Debt collection isn’t always straightforward — our experience tell us every situation is different. That’s why we deal with each case in a way that fits the customer, not just the paperwork. We stick to one key principle: treat people fairly. No matter what.
We’re happy to get involved at any point — whether someone’s just starting to fall behind or things have reached a more serious stage. However, the earlier we’re brought in, the more likely it is we can help arrange a plan that works for everyone.
We’re often called in for utility visits too, especially when someone’s at risk of disconnection. In these cases, we try to sort things out before it gets that far — with solutions such as offering to fit pre-payment meters where it makes sense. We can also talk through account issues, take payments, or help set up a direct debit. And if things have gone further, we’ve got a lot of experience handling warrants of entry for utilities too.
How We Work
We know its an often over used phrase but we really don’t use a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Our services cover all stages of the debt process. And we work either on a commission or no win, no fee basis, depending on the case.
Here’s what we offer:
- Contacting customers through letters, phone calls, emails or texts — always aiming to agree a way forward.
- Legal action when it’s needed, handled by our legal team.
- Tracing, if someone’s moved and can’t be reached.
- Doorstep visits — but only after all other efforts have been made.
Doorstep Visits: What Really Happens
Doorstep collections sometimes get a bad name, but the way we do them is very different to what most people imagine.
Our field team is trained to handle visits calmly and respectfully. They’re not there to pressure anyone or make them feel uncomfortable — their job is to talk to the person face-to-face, understand what’s going on, and see what options are available. Any info we collect is passed on to our client, who decides what happens next.
We always check what someone can realistically afford before any payment plan is suggested. And if needed, our field agents might recommend:
- Breathing space – If someone’s in a vulnerable spot, we won’t push. We’ll walk away and give them time. It’s about doing what’s right, not what’s fastest.
- Debt advice – If it looks like someone’s outgoings are bigger than what they bring in, we’ll point them to free, trusted debt advice services. We know the organisations that can help and always pass that info on.
We believe debt collection should be fair, honest and human. That’s how we work — and that’s why people trust us to get the job done without making a tough situation worse. We are confident that you will find working with us helpful, professional and friendly… contact us today on 0333 320 0748.
